An NT taxi going to the airport must follow its permitted operating area and designated route. An early-morning flight usually means departing Sheung Shui or Fanling before dawn. Taxis may still be found in North District town centres at that hour, but availability is lower near Queen's Hill, Kwu Tung, Ping Che, Ta Kwu Ling and other village houses — book at least a day in advance.
Weekday morning southbound
Fanling Highway, San Tin Highway and roads connecting toward Yuen Long may see more traffic during weekday peak hours. A fixed fare controls the fare, but it can't eliminate the time risk from congestion, so still leave early for a flight.
Sundays and public holidays
Traffic on Tai Lam Tunnel and main arteries changes with holiday activities, cross-district travel or road incidents. Book ahead of long holidays, Christmas, New Year and peak summer travel season too.
A morning call is not a substitute for your own alarm
If the booking service offers a pre-departure reminder, treat it only as a backup. Passengers should still set their own alarm, pack luggage in advance, complete online check-in and arrive at the pickup point by the agreed time.
