What does a 15% discount actually mean?

It is a way of charging, not a different kind of taxi

"15% off" (some call it an 85% meter fare) does not mean a special vehicle. The car is a normal red, green or blue taxi licensed by the Transport Department and the driver holds a taxi driving licence. The only difference is what you pay at the end.

Discounted fare = legal meter reading × 0.85

Whatever the meter shows when you arrive, we charge 85% of it — and we waive the luggage fee and the return toll on top. You always pay less than the meter, with no unpleasant surprises.

⚠️ So which should I choose?

Short, direct trips outside rush hour are usually cheapest on the discounted meter. Long trips, cross-harbour runs and peak hours are safer on a fixed price, because the risk of a traffic jam sits with us, not with you. Message us and we will quote both so you can compare.

Booking takes three steps

About two minutes — no app, no prepayment

  1. Send us the details

WhatsApp 5584 6444 or call. Tell us the date and time, pickup address (hotel or building name), destination, number of passengers and pieces of luggage. For arrivals add your flight number — we track the actual landing time, so a delayed flight costs you nothing extra.

  2. Get the quote and confirm

We reply with both a fixed price and the meter-minus-15% option, tolls and luggage already included. Reply "confirm" and it is booked — no deposit, no card details.

  3. Ride and pay on arrival

Before pickup we send you the vehicle registration and the driver's phone number. For arrivals the driver waits in the arrivals hall. You pay at the end, by cash, Octopus or e-payment.

First time? Read how to book an airport taxi and how to call a taxi.

24-hour service: red-eye arrivals and dawn departures

Hong Kong International Airport takes flights all night, but the Airport Express stops running around 00:48 and overnight buses are infrequent and require changes with your bags. A taxi is the direct option — and the small hours are exactly when unlicensed touts approach arriving passengers in the terminal.

🌙

No night surcharge

Landing at 03:00 costs the same as landing at 15:00. We do not add a night rate and the fixed price does not move with the clock.

✈️

We track your flight

Give us the flight number and we dispatch against the actual landing time. A delayed flight is not charged as waiting time.

🧾

Plate number in advance

You get the registration and driver's number before pickup, so you never have to negotiate with a stranger — see avoiding illegal taxis.

🛄

Luggage included

The statutory fee is $6 per piece; we waive it entirely, with no limit on pieces. Tell us in advance about oversized items.

Hong Kong airport taxi FAQ

No. The discount describes how you are charged. The vehicle is a normal licensed urban (red), New Territories (green) or Lantau (blue) taxi and the driver holds a taxi driving licence. The difference is that we charge 85% of the legal meter fare at the end of the trip and waive the luggage fee and return toll.

It is the meter reading × 0.85. If the meter shows $200 you pay $170. The statutory luggage fee of $6 per piece and the return toll are waived, and any toll on the route is already inside the price we quote you. You can also ask for a fixed price instead, so you know the total before you leave.

Typical fixed prices: Tung Chung from $40, Tsing Yi from $120, Tsuen Wan from $170, Mong Kok and Sham Shui Po from $210, Tsim Sha Tsui from $225, Kowloon City and Kai Tak from $230, Sha Tin from $240, Kwun Tong from $250, Central and Hong Kong Island from $260, Tseung Kwan O from $285, Sai Kung from $410 — tolls, return tolls and luggage included. See the full price list or the fare calculator.

30 minutes for a daytime city pickup, 1 hour overnight, in outlying areas or with heavy luggage. For arrivals, book a day ahead and give us the flight number so we can dispatch against the real landing time. Last-minute requests are still worth a call.

Nothing extra to pay. As long as you gave us the flight number when booking, we track the actual arrival time and dispatch accordingly, with no waiting charge. If your own plans change, WhatsApp us as early as you can.

Yes — 24 hours, 365 days — and there is no night surcharge: 03:00 costs the same as 15:00. This is the window when the Airport Express has stopped and overnight buses are thin, so a taxi is the direct option.

Hong Kong law allows a maximum of 5 passengers per taxi. We do not limit or charge for luggage, but boot space does have limits — tell us in advance if you have four or more large cases, a pushchair, golf clubs or a bike bag and we will send a suitable vehicle or a second car. See groups & large luggage.

Not at all. Message us in English — Chinese, Japanese and Korean are fine too. Send the hotel name or address and the flight time; we confirm and pass the address to the driver, so you never need to speak to the driver directly. The site is also available in 中文, 日本語 and 한국어.

Most vehicles accept cash, Octopus, FPS and PayMe, and many take Alipay or WeChat Pay. Because it varies by car, tell us your preferred method when booking and we will send a vehicle that supports it. See payment methods.

No deposit and no card details. You pay at the end of the trip. To cancel, call or WhatsApp as early as you can — normally there is no cancellation fee, though if the car has already reached the pickup point we may charge for the distance covered.

Licensed taxis queue at the designated ranks, carry a roof-mounted "TAXI" sign, display the plate number and tariff table, and show the driver's licence inside. Anyone approaching you inside the arrivals hall offering "$500 to Tsim Sha Tsui" is not a licensed taxi. Booking ahead is the safest answer — you already have the plate number. See avoiding illegal taxis.
