At roughly 18 km and 20–30 minutes, it is the shortest and cheapest of all our popular airport routes. The fixed price is from $190, with luggage (no limit on pieces) and the phone-booking fee already included. Because the trip never leaves Lantau, it crosses no toll tunnel and no toll bridge, so there is no tunnel charge and no return-toll charge to argue about. We drop you at the park gate or at the door of any of the three Disney hotels, so you are not dragging suitcases and a pushchair through three separate MTR journeys. We run 24 hours a day, red-eye arrivals included, with no night surcharge.

Why is Disneyland the shortest airport route in Hong Kong?
Same island, one expressway, not a single toll point in between
Every other popular destination in Hong Kong — Tsim Sha Tsui, Central, Sha Tin, Tseung Kwan O — is off Lantau Island. To reach any of them from the airport, a vehicle first has to cross the Lantau Link (Tsing Ma Bridge) to leave the island, and destinations on Hong Kong Island then have to go under the harbour as well. Each of those crossings adds time, and most of them add money.
Disneyland does not. The resort is on Lantau, exactly like the airport. It sits at Penny's Bay on the north-east of the island, so the drive is simply east along the North Lantau Highway and then onto the Penny's Bay Highway — you never leave Lantau.
Standard route and what it costs
Airport T1 / T2 → Airport Road → North Lantau Highway (free expressway) → Penny's Bay Highway (free) → Hong Kong Disneyland Resort
There is no toll tunnel anywhere on this route, and it does not use the Tsing Ma Bridge. Compare that with a trip to Hong Kong Island, which pays $25 for the harbour tunnel and, when the passenger did not board at a cross-harbour taxi stand, a further $25 return toll. On tolls alone, Hong Kong Island costs $50 more than Disneyland before the meter has moved.
That geography shows up in three places at once: the lowest fare (from $190, second only to Tung Chung), the shortest journey (20–30 minutes), and the lowest traffic risk (expressway the whole way, no city streets, no tunnel bottleneck). For a family that has just come off a long-haul flight with tired children, those three things together are the difference between being in the room half an hour after landing and spending another ninety minutes getting there.

⚠️ On a route this short, the two options are close
Because the distance is small and there are no tolls, the gap between the discounted meter and the fixed price is usually only ten or twenty dollars. What differs is certainty. The fixed price stays the same whether you hit traffic, whether the driver waits while you get the children and the bags organised, or whether there is a queue at the resort entrance. The discounted meter follows whatever the meter actually reads. Message us and we will quote both so you can pick.

Give us the full hotel name, or say "park gate", when you book. The three Disney hotels sit at different points in the resort and each has its own designated drop-off arrangement. If all we hear is "Disneyland", the driver may well stop at the main gate — which leaves hotel guests to find their own way from there with the luggage. Telling us the exact destination lets us confirm the fare at the same time and saves you walking the long way round.

Travelling with children: bags, buggies and seats
Eight in ten of the people who book this route are travelling with children. These are the questions that actually come up on WhatsApp:

These allow about 2.5 hours at the airport (international flights generally suggest 2–3 hours) plus 20–30 minutes of driving. Always check your airline's own cut-off. Taxi demand inside the resort spikes around closing time, so booking a day ahead is strongly advised.
Meeting your driver on arrival
Booking a pickup and joining the taxi rank are two different things. At the official rank you wait your turn in whatever queue exists on the day. A booked pickup is arranged at the confirmed, permitted meeting point for that booking, so you do not join the general rank queue.
How it runs
- Before departure: we WhatsApp you the vehicle registration and the driver's phone number.
- After you land: switch your phone on and message us "landed". If your bags are delayed, tell us you are still at the carousel and we will re-confirm the waiting arrangement.
- Meeting: the driver waits in the arrivals hall; check the plate against our message and get in.
- Paying: at the end of the trip — cash, Octopus or e-payment.

Four things people get wrong about this trip
1. "A taxi must cost more than the train"
True for a solo traveller, not necessarily for a family. The MTR charges per person — four people means four fares, across three trains. The taxi is one price for the car, from $190 split four ways. Add free luggage and no changes, and the real difference is often smaller than people expect.
2. "There will be a tunnel toll"
There will not. That idea comes from routes to Hong Kong Island, where a taxi pays $25 for the harbour tunnel plus a $25 return toll when the passenger did not board at a cross-harbour stand. The airport and Disneyland are both on Lantau: no harbour crossing, no Tsing Ma Bridge, no toll tunnel anywhere on the route.
3. "Saying 'Disneyland' is enough"
The resort covers a fair area, and the park gate and the three hotels each have their own drop-off arrangement. Say only "Disneyland" and the driver may reasonably stop at the main gate, leaving hotel guests to walk from there with the bags. Give the full hotel name instead.
4. "We'll just grab a taxi when we finish"
Around closing time, everyone in the resort wants a taxi at once. That is a difficult moment to be hailing from the kerb, particularly if you have a flight to catch. Booking a day ahead means we arrive at the time and place you named — cheap insurance.
Three common situations
Landing in the morning and going straight into the park
The ideal case. A morning arrival plus 20–30 minutes of driving usually gets you there in time for opening. But you have not checked in — what about the bags? The three Disney hotels generally hold luggage for their guests, so the smoothest move is to ask for your hotel by name rather than the park gate: drop the bags, collect your tickets, then walk over. The hotels and the park are not far apart.

Landing late at night, visiting the next day
At that hour the Airport Express has stopped (last train around 00:48), so the three-train route is simply not available. A taxi is the direct option, and we charge no night surcharge — 3 am costs what 3 pm costs. Tired, with children, door to door into the room is what actually matters.

Leaving the park to catch a flight
The one that most often goes wrong. Demand for taxis inside the resort spikes as the park empties, and there may be nothing available when you want it. Book a day ahead and set the departure time from the table above. If you are checking out the same day, allow for packing and the front desk too.

Resort hotel or city hotel? The transport maths
Families often ask whether the Disney hotels are worth it: dearer rooms, but no daily commute. On transport alone, it looks like this:
